Soleil grows up between different worlds—between comfort and inequality, between assumption and reality. The novel explores perception, identity, and the limits of reality. As experience becomes unstable, the distinction between what is real and what is not begins to collapse. Thoughts, memories, and external events blur, and the sense of self shifts along with them. Visions of other times—past lives, distant histories, and fragments reaching back to the 1600s—emerge, moving through places like Ragusa and Venezia, and challenging any fixed notion of identity. What remains is a search for meaning that cannot rely on certainty, only on awareness. The novel follows a mind trying to understand itself and the world it inhabits, even as both resist clear definition.
